Decaying Womb was an Oslo-based band founded in late 2002 by bassist/guitarist/backing vocalist Cristo M. Sanchez, drummer/lyricist Lars Karlsen and vocalist/lyricist Will Myrer. Taking inspiration and combining elements from politically charged hardcore, punk and metal they created a new genre they referred to as Oslo-core.

 

In 2005 they incorporated a broader sound with the inclusion of Eirik Ørevik Aadland as full-time guitarist. They recorded 3 EPs - "The Great Results of a Prospering Society" (2003), "Jars" (2004) and "Genocide in Paradise" (2005) - as well as played numerous crazy live shows in and around Oslo, before they parted ways in 2006.

 

Cristo M. Sanchez would go on to form the groove-horror-metal band SOUTH, the indecipherable band xxGuillotines, as well as the prog-rock band Glutton alongside Eirik Ørevik Aadland, which Aadland is still a part of. With the 20th year anniversary of Decaying Womb coming up, they have now released a "Anthology" album entitled "All My Condolences" (2026).
